Description:
The Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) provides counseling services to individuals and families. Services are intended to assess problems within the clients’ psychosocial network and develop plans in partnership with client to promote recovery. Services provided enhance emotional/ behavioral/system stability and promote ongoing wellness.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide intake assessments
  • Provide all services from a trauma informed perspective.
  • Conduct biopsychosocial assessments
  • Provide ongoing on culturally sensitive psychotherapy/outpatient mental health services to promote individualized patient recovery to include individual, couple, family, and group therapy
  • Develop individualized treatment plans with measurable goals and objectives in collaboration with clients
  • Review treatment plans and adjust as necessary on a regular basis
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and handle information with tact and diplomacy
  • Complete and maintain documentation in a timely and accurate manner utilizing the agency’s electronic medical record and according to Federal, State and agency guidelines
  • Provide group presentations on mental health and health education topics
  • Refer clients to appropriate resources within Catholic Charities and with other community and/or government agencies
  • Maintain current knowledge regarding literature, trends, developments, and policy changes effecting the program
  • Produce timely reports as required by Program Director and others
  • Attend and participate in all meetings and trainings as required by the agency
  • Work as liaison with other agencies, churches, businesses, and individuals in the community to coordinate services to support individuals in attaining needed services
  • Assist staff/programs/community in emergency/crisis situations as directed
  • Participate in department, agency wide and other meetings, trainings, and development opportunities as determined appropriate by supervisor
  • Participate in marketing and developing of the program
  • Assure compliance with any grant contracts
  • Maintain standards of accountability for all financial transactions

Requirements:
The LMHC shall have Masters Degree in counseling or related field from an accredited graduate program and a minimum of three years’ experience in a mental health setting including the provision of direct practice counseling and intervention. The LMHC shall possess effective verbal and written communication skills, good computer skills with a working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office programs and electronic medical records. Bi-lingual written and oral skills are preferred
