Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Head of EMEA Licensing, the EMEA Licensing Manager will manage multiple Licensing agents and direct commercial relationships across a wide range of product categories for BBC Studios portfolio of brands for the region.
They will contribute to the team who have full financial and budgetary responsibility for licensing income derived from brands, identify product opportunities, find licensees and manage licensing campaigns.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with the team to develop an overall annual plan by brand, set budgets and achieve sales targets. Help keep accurate forecasts and retain awareness of ongoing sales, retail launches, listings and focus across selected EMEA markets
  • Work with the Head EMEA and EMEA Licensing Executive to onboard and maintain relationships with licensing agents and internal departments.
  • Work closely with agents and internal teams to finalise advantageous license terms for deals through to final approval and ensure all deals, products and promotions adhere to BBC Studios Ethical Policy, Commercial Policy, Sustainability Policy, Environmental Policy and Food Policy.
  • Monitor the progress of licensing contracts and approvals of products and marketing materials/advertisements through the relevant departments helping to resolve any issues to meet sales and product launch time-scales.
  • Manage the delivery of sales and brand materials to agents for the relevant brands. Contribute to the creation of suitable sales support materials and brand presentations as required for Licensing.
  • Work with licensing colleagues in other BBC international offices to ensure that brands are optimised globally, including selecting licensees on the basis of their global sales potential.
  • Work within an overall framework of brand plans and view all Licensing activity within the context of a wider long-term opportunity to maximise commercial return for BBC Studios whilst protecting and developing BBC Brands.
  • Identify manufacturing and retail trends to open up new product opportunities and work with licensees and our agents to ensure product ranges are cohesive, innovative and maximise the life cycle of each brand
  • Share insights on partner analysis, trend and trade performance across EMEA.
  • Attend trade fairs, presentations and industry events as necessary
  • Undertake specific projects or reports assigned by the Head of EMEA
