Description:
Background & Purpose of the Job: The Unilever Covington factory is a 24/7 high paced dynamic work environment. We achieve goals through collaborative cross functional teams in the safe and quality delivery of finished goods across the shift they are leading. Making brands such as Klondike, Popsicle, Breyers, and Good Humor ice cream.
The Machine Operator provides support to the production area to meet Quality, Safety, and Productivity goals. The Machine Operator is responsible for the safe operation of production equipment to deliver customer requirements through completion of the production plan, adhering to quality standards and maximizing cost effectiveness, optimal running, and equipment efficiency.
Location of the job: Covington, TN
Base Pay Rate: $21.00 per hour
Shift: 8 hours, 2pm- 10pm
Responsibilities:
- Active member of a production team (Space Saver, Klondike, Gram) and supports the team culture of the Covington Plant through participation and leadership in LEAN PROCESS- Total Productive Maintenance (TMP).
- Production Line set up including auxiliary equipment. Assemble necessary ingredients, clean and sanitize production area, and set and maintain machine to formula specifications.
- Responsible for Clean in Place/Clean out of Place (CIP/COP) functions to maintain a sanitary work environment
- Comply with all Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and quality procedures, including all Statistical Process Control (SPC) functions. Follow established procedures for monitoring product specifications such as product weight, product size, machine output, wrap, code dates, product quality etc. Keep areas clean, organized and dry.
- Responsible for the integrity of handling and labeling floor Rework
- Monitor equipment for abnormalities, solving minor problems without assistance and eliminating potential threats to production. Communicate effectively with Team members, including maintenance personnel regarding recurring problems and needs for repair. Take part in PM’s and all AM activities. Follow lubrication programs and maintain lube log.
- Oversee all operations at workstations, including personnel assigned to your workstation.
- Plays an active role in TPM including, the creation and updating of production documentation, Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions. Will create and maintain TPM standards, the writing of One Point Lessons, and participation in Kaizen events.
- Function as needed in various capacities, including moving supplies and discard, filling in for other teammates as necessary and other duties as assigned.
