ABOUT THE JOB:

We are currently seeking Linguistics & Localization Expert Interns for a challenging experience based Internship to contribute to an innovative and groundbreaking project in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Are you passionate about AI and looking to make your mark in the industry? Come join our dynamic team as we push the boundaries and create a game changer in the world of AI. You will have the unique opportunity to participate in a fully immersive internship where you will be adapting content to various cultural contexts, ensuring that translations are both linguistically accurate and culturally appropriate. This is designed largely as a remote placement however can also be a hybrid internship (Chicago or Toronto). In this engagement/applied learning internship you’ll gain unparalleled experience in a high-growth, dynamic environment, directly interfacing with senior management and largely different from any other internship. Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of Large Language Models and voice synthesis tools for a specific non-English language, ensuring the linguistic integrity and authenticity of the models
  • Collect and analyze linguistic data pertinent to the target language. This involves sourcing, annotating, and validating large datasets to enhance the language models’ accuracy and naturalness in voice synthesis
  • Provide expert insights on the cultural and linguistic nuances of the target language, ensuring that the models capture idiomatic expressions, regional dialects, and culturally specific references accurately
  • Develop localization strategies for adapting the language models and voice synthesis to specific regional contexts within the language group, focusing on cultural appropriateness and regional linguistic variations
