ROLE OVERVIEW
Cognizant seeks a Linux Administrator with IAC expertise to bolster our growing infrastructure practice. If you excel in crafting, implementing, and managing cloud-native applications on large-scale platforms, possess a collaborative spirit, self-motivation, and adeptness in handling diverse tasks, alerts, and security challenges, then this opportunity is tailor-made for you.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Support agile innovative infrastructure solutions/Infrastructure management solutions that take advantage of cloud technology to allow cost optimization, standardization
- Collaborate with team to build Cloud IaC (Infrastructure as Code) standards and implementation.
- Work Closely with geographically distributed teams on technical challenges and process improvements
- Manage the OS, Load balancers, Web server related issues and configuration
- Manage the repave or patching activity seamlessly with help of IaC automation
- Provide on-call support as required
- Take ownership of the deliverables and lead the entire team
- Perform Linux administration tasks, focusing on RedHat distributions.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE
- Experience with AWS or GCP cloud platforms.
- Familiarity with IAC tools like Ansible and Terraform.
- Proficient in Linux administration, especially RedHat, CentOS, Debian, etc.
- Solid grasp of patch management principles and performance tuning.
- Familiarity with SSL certificate management practices.
- Understanding of networking protocols like DNS, LDAP, SMTP.
- Expertise in Shell and/or Python scripting.
- Mail Server or SMTP Relay experience
- Proficient in Source Code Control Management like Git
- Jenkins CICD and Kernel Tuning experience
- Knowledge in observability tools such as Elastic
