Are you looking for a more dynamic role with real opportunities for career development? This large IT Defence site has it all. You will be providing 2nd and 3rd line support in a very dynamic business environment, part of a team working on multiple applications that run on Linux or Red-Hat 8 derivative Rocky Linux 8. This dedicated Applications Support team work alongside developers and vendors in providing support for current deployed web applications hosted on Linux based systems. You will provide support to future projects deploying new applications, providing technical knowledge and feedback.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a team of highly skilled Technical Support Engineers working on exciting projects and supporting a multitude of applications running on varied platforms and advanced technologies.
Role is hybrid fixed in Portsmouth OR Salisbury 4 days per week.
You do need to be eligible for SC Clearance and prepared to go through DV Clearance.

IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAD:

• SQL (MySQL, MariaDB) experience support
• Certificate management
• Monitoring and logs management
• Support existing and new CI/CD Pipeline (jobs, builds) and their associated test environments
• Agile methodologies

• Apply development changes/Product updates on production
• Develop scripts for execution of commonly used processes and automation of simple tasks
• Apply problem-solving skills in a mixed operating system environment to support assignments
• Partner closely with development groups, infrastructure support groups, and vendors to coordinate operations, and communicate/raise problems
• Diagnose problems with applications and provide prompt recovery and problem resolution
• Accurate creation, execution, documentation, and closure of tasks, changes, and service requests
