Description:
Overview:
Litigation Counsel will be a trusted partner and key business advisor for litigation-related aspects of NaphCare’s national legal strategy and functional initiatives for the Company. The successful candidate will possess significant litigation experience, including litigation management and strategy, preferably in the areas of medical malpractice, civil rights, and/or government and municipal law.
This position can be physically located at any of NaphCare’s corporate or regional offices in Birmingham, Alabama; Las Vegas, Nevada; San Diego, California; or Phoenix, Arizona. Relocation assistance will be considered.
STRONGLY PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Litigation and trial experience specific to medical malpractice and civil rights claims regarding healthcare services provided in a jail or prison setting.
Responsibilities:
- Working with Legal Team members, business leaders and corporate staff to articulate the risks and benefits of legal strategy.
- Assisting with developing strategies for, managing, and resolving a wide variety of investigations, litigation and pre-litigation disputes, including professional medical liability, employment, contractual, insurance-coverage and other matters
- Providing strategic litigation advice to the business on a daily basis
- Helping lines of business develop and implement processes, policies, procedures, and systems to promote risk avoidance and prevent litigation.
- Assisting with supervising outside counsel
- Working with NaphCare’s insurers to manage insured claims.
- Coordinating reserve analyses and legal disclosures as necessary
