THE OPPORTUNITY

Fisher Phillips is an international labor and employment law firm, and we are looking for an experienced Litigation Secretary to support the needs of our Tampa office. REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to accurately format documents which adhere to firm standards for format, style and quality, including table of contents and table of authorities.
  • State and federal court filing experience (manual and electronic).
  • Minimum of a high school diploma required (College degree is preferred, but not required).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a legal secretary.
  • Strong skills in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel, familiarity with PowerPoint; ability to use phone system, copier, scanner, fax, and printer. iManage (or comparable document management system), CompuLaw (or comparable docketing/calendaring software), Aderant and InTapp knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and format briefs, pleadings, correspondence and other legal documents.
  • Prepare and process conflict checks and new client/matter requests.
  • File legal documents with state and federal courts (electronic and traditional filings).
  • Regularly and accurately proofread all documents to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to distribution or filing.
  • Update and maintain client files electronically in document management system (iManage Work 10).
  • Maintain attorney calendars through Outlook and CompuLaw (i.e. scheduling appointments, calendaring due dates, etc.).
  • Arrange meetings and conference calls; may order meals, refreshments, and equipment as requested.
  • Accurately enter, review and revise timekeeper time entries including consistent identification of litigation codes, when applicable.
  • Prepare expense reimbursement requests for assigned attorneys.
  • Review and ensure accuracy of vendor invoices; prepare accurate check requests and timely submit invoices for payment to client or accounting.
  • Assist visitors, paralegals and attorneys whose secretaries are absent, and accept overflow work from other secretaries.
  • Organize and coordinate travel arrangements.
  • Consistently provide friendly and helpful telephone support for assigned attorneys and/or receptionist relief.
  • Participate in the timely review and submission of pre-bills and/or client bills.
