LivaNova Business System (LBS) Leader (m/f/d)
The LBS Leader is responsible for planning, establishing, implementing, and maintaining our continuous improvement program - The LivaNova Business System – as part of our global strategy Team. The LBS Leader supports the Munich Site in deploying the Livanova Business System, applying the mechanics of a Lean Transformation, lean tools and techniques, optimizing processes, people development, realizing efficiency and cost saving according to Company strategy. This role is a key position for the delivery of process innovation and continuous improvement initiatives across the Company. It will play an important role in helping to foster a culture of sustainable change through the implementation and embedding of Lean methodologies, and the supporting framework, to deliver a Business transformation. The role is based in Munich and requires some international travel.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Identify and create world class processes throughout the organization and define process capabilities, assess gaps, and develop closure plans
  • Assist site, functional and company leadership in the development of an LBS Roadmap. Be an integral part of LivaNova’s team that designs and creates the infrastructure to make the LBS a benchmark in the industry
  • Ensure LivaNova Business system use is aligned with site level goals and metrics
  • Engage the plant teams in setting specific goals around Lean initiatives. This includes working with leadership to drive lean daily management in key areas of Safety, People, Quality, Delivery, Inventory and Productivity
  • Identify and share best practices across the organization; incorporate benchmarks and best practices across all LivaNova locations
  • Organize, lead, facilitate and co-facilitate kaizen events and improvement workshops that are tied to our Strategy Deployment (SD) and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to drive significant sustainable business results across the organization by leveraging Lean philosophy and tools, people skills, and change management processes
  • Ensure successful kaizen events by installing and ensuring compliance to the kaizen process including: (1) planning of kaizens through a funnel process tied to SD, KPIs, and business needs, (2) kaizen execution and (3) sustainment of kaizens
  • Mentor, coach and develop potential lean practitioner candidates through their tasks and events driving business change
  • Coach and support the site leadership team in their development and activities
  • Contribute to implement the Mechanics of a Lean Transformation in all functions

Knowledge and Skills

  • Deep knowledge of Lean methodologies and tools (Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, A3, Kanban, 5/6s, SMED, etc.); Six Sigma would be a plus
  • Deep knowledge of Operations, Industrial Engineering and Time & Methods
  • Very experienced with deploying Lean methods/leading Lean transformation
  • Good knowledge of project planning
  • Proven track record in people development, coaching and training
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of Partners, senior managers, and subject matter experts
  • Lean certifications preferred
  • Preferably prior experience in R&D contexts
  • Familiarity with various manufacturing process technologies
  • Experience of hands-on implementation of continuous improvement programs and Lean transformation
  • Experience of Problem-Solving analysis, designing countermeasures plans to address issues, and track record of following through to ensure closure
  • Fluent in German and English, written and spoken
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office, including Project, Visio, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
