The department Global Operations Engineering is a part of the Vestas Service organization. We are currently expanding the organization with highly qualified employees. The department is responsible for delivering service solutions on all brands enabling the service business within Vestas to fulfil its innovative, strategic targets. The service solutions vary from product developments like Rotor upgrades (Vestas/Non-Vestas), Software developments for mix-match configurations, improvements like component life extensions, optimizations of performance and cost-out initiatives. The department holds the responsibility for service/aftersales solutions on the installed fleet. We are responsible for delivering innovative solutions to ensure highest possible value to Vestas customers in the service business. The team is located in different geographical locations and is expanding to meet the demand of a growing and exciting business.
QUALIFICATIONS
- MTech/MS in the stream of Civil or Aerospace or Mechanical from an accredited university or engineering college
- At least 5 years of experience with load evaluation towards wind turbine design.
- The knowledge with the tools Flex5, Bladed or HAWC2 (aero-elastic simulations) & modelling.
- The knowledge on software and programming skills (ex. C, C++, Matlab, etc.)
- Significant competencies within dynamic simulation of mechanical or structural systems.
- The knowledge on Electro-mechanical systems
Responsibilities:
- As Load engineer in Service, you will be a core member of the Loads & Controls team that brings together new ideas across LAC area into value adding projects. Your area of responsibility will be, but not excluded to:
- Feasibility studies of new turbine features aiming at optimizing power, loads and noise performance through innovative use of sensors, controllers and actuators for the existing fleet variants.
- Coordinate the technical aspects of product development for specific after sales products from feasibility state to fully verified product on committed scope, budget and schedule.
- Lead new technology advancements in Service to adapt existing fleet variants operates similar to the latest Vestas products
- Handle field issues, CIM cases, sudden events related to turbine operation to improve turbine downtime and to ensure turbine structural integrity etc.
- Lead Offshore load calculation efforts for enabling power plus opportunities.
- Providing input to service technology roadmap and Vestas technology roadmap
