IN SUMMARY, YOU WILL BRING:

• Minimum 3-4 years hands on operational/factory and processing experience ideally within primary industry and/or FMCG environment. Seafood and lobster industry experience highly advantageous
• Strong operational planning, execution and people skills
• Quick learner who shows initiative and proactivity
• Operational excellence mindset, with experience in health and safety, risk management and food safety and compliance
• Process orientated, strong planning routines incl. consistent and transparent communication and engagement

We are offering a unique experience to live and work on the Chatham Islands.
Moana has a successful and established lobster business on the Chatham Islands, with joint venture partner Port Nicholson Fisheries (PNF). Moana manages a lobster depot, on our Waitangi site, situated along the southern shore of Petre Bay in Waitangi.
Reporting to the Site Manager, we are looking for an experienced Lobster Depot Supervisor to manage day to day management of plant including planning, coordination and completion of operational tasks. Please see below.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Liaise with Lobster fishers to plan and coordinate landings, unloads, and bait requirements; ensuring the lobster plant is running to capacity; and efficiently without compromising on product quality or Health and Safety.
• Unload vessels and/or receive in lobster at the plant. Grade and weigh lobster per PNF specifications and MPI requirements and complete necessary documentation per landing.
• Complete tailing and packing process per PH193 RMP (Risk Management Program).
• Plan and organize freight, load out of product, and complete necessary documentation per load out.
• Ensure robust processes are in place to support efficient processing, and cost-effective production.
• Ensure all daily records and administration requirements are completed
  This is a practical, hands-on role that requires a sound knowledge and understanding of lobster operations, right from the time of catch, up until dispatch. Ensuring we have processes and systems in place to keep our premium lobster in prime condition until it reaches our customers across Aotearoa and internationally.

Taking the day-to-day lead in the Depot, with the overall focus of the role being on the efficient allocation of tasks for processing, high levels of productivity and achievement of targets. You will be responsible for the Depot’s health, safety, and compliance, including inductions, inventory management, processes and systems, and food safety and compliance.
  Relocation to the Chatham Islands is required for this role.
