ABOUT THE ROLE
Would you like to be a Local Area Coordinator - Information, Linkages and Capacity Building and join our National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Local Area Coordination program (LAC) located at our Toowoomba office. We are excited to be in a period of growth and collaboration hence seeking someone who wants to support this amazing opportunity to bring their own strengths and community connections to our region.
This position will deliver the NDIS Local Area Coordination program by working with a broad cross section of the community including people with disability who have an NDIS plan; families transitioning from the Early Childhood, Early Intervention (ECEI) partner; connecting with specific sectors of the community to support access to the NDIS for hard to reach groups; and link individuals with disability who are not eligible for or interested in accessing the NDIS to mainstream and community supports, services and activities. Some of the projects will include Families, First Nations, Multicultural and Making the Most of the NDIS.
SOME OF YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES IN THIS ROLE WILL INCLUDE:
- Project management – managing projects to achieve organisational outcomes, regular reporting requirements and continuous improvement of activity delivery.
- Increase community knowledge about the NDIS through high level community engagement and relationship development with Stakeholders.
- Prepare and facilitate Capacity Building workshops (face to face and online)
- Collaborate with organisations and community groups to participate in activities and events to share NDIS information.
- Support people to understand their NDIS plan, how they can use it and how to achieve their NDIS plan goals.
- Engage people with disability to link with community and government supports.
- Periodic travel across the Toowoomba region and surrounding areas is required: a work vehicle is available.
