Description:

LOCALISATION MANAGER

SumUp is a global FinTech player on a mission to support small merchants with building a thriving business all over the world.
We are looking for a passionate Localisation Manager, who will play a key role in shaping the voice of SumUp. You will collaborate closely with Content Manager, Designers, Growth Leads, Product and Engineering teams to ensure high-quality content production across EU GTM activities, boosting organisational effectiveness and long-term impact. You will guide the teams on localisability and localisation best practices, work on different aspects of localisation operations and help us reach our localisation OKRs.
This role will report to our Global Localisation Lead. We are a cross-functional group working in the fields of Localisation, Content, SEO, Brand, Creatives, PR, and Social Media. Together, we devise innovative strategies to ship and market SumUp’s products, grow the brand, attract new customers, and keep existing merchants excited about our products.

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Manage the localisation process of content and design assets to enable go-to-market and growth initiatives, and deliver on localisation needs of product development, customer care operations, and legal requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to facilitate localisation projects, from developing initiative-level strategies to executing and delivering them
  • Build, align, and streamline processes using our translation management system, optimise workflows through automation, and introduce agile project management approaches.
  • Build project roadmaps, plan and monitor deadlines, create and optimise documentation to reduce knowledge dependencies, and consult teams on localisation best practices/processes.
  • Perform and evolve quality assurance measures to ensure high-quality deliverables.

YOU’LL BE GREAT FOR THIS ROLE IF

  • You have proven experience in an in-house localisation team, bring knowledge of the localisation industry standard, and have a record of managing localisation projects (various types of content assets)
  • You’ve previously worked with translation management systems and CAT tools; experience in working with Smartling is a plus.
  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment when dealing with cross-functional teams.
  • You pay great attention to details, have a strong linguistic and cultural sensibility.
  • You’re a problem-solver, work independently by taking the lead on new initiatives and know how to prioritise in an agile environment.
  • You’re fluent in English, both spoken and written – knowledge of additional European languages is a plus.
