KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

As the Logistics Production Coordinator your key responsibilities will include:

• Thoroughly inspect each received shipment for completeness and deviations and, if needed, perform rejection procedures in writing (English or German).
• Register and verify each received and accepted shipment in our Logistics Production software tool.
• Resolve issues addressed by the building team onsite, by identifying and registering the issue and contacting the supplier(s) and Damen Naval HQ. You have the gift of always remaining polite and constructive in your communication.
• Continuously improve and overlook your work processes whenever you see an opportunity to increase effectiveness.
• Support and coordinate with the acceptance of Government furnished equipment. (GFE), spare parts or tools.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

To excel as Logistics Production Coordinator, you should possess the following qualifications and qualities:

• Vocational education in Logistics with at least 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in shipbuilding.
• Excellent problem-solving skills to tackle independently and effectively any operational or technical problems.
• Proven success in creating constructive and effective relationships with the client and suppliers.
• Exceptional communication skills; actively listening and answering in a friendly and constructive manner.
• Native German language command along with proficient English command.
• Strong sense of ownership and responsibility, to always strive to the best win-win solution and result.
• Professional experience working with warehouse and production software (SAP PP/PLM).
• Knowledge of Health, Safety, Security, Environment and Quality (HSSEQ) policies and procedures.
• We have a strong preference of someone residing in, and familiar in, the Wolgast area.
• Excellent references antecedents as a pre-employment security screening is standard part of the recruitment procedure.
• Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required and candidates with EU (work) visa with both an EU and non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible in accordance with the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.

THE ROLE

As the Logistics Production Coordinator, you will play a key part in the timely delivery of state-of-the-art naval vessels for the German Navy. Damen Naval, who has been awarded with the largest shipbuilding project in the history of the German Navy, has recently celebrated the timely start of production in Germany. The production is taking place across three building sites: Kiel, Wolgast and Hamburg. The building materials and components for these vessels are shipped directly from our suppliers and subcontractors to each building site. You will check the quality and completeness of the deliveries together with our building partner, and ensure it is correctly registered in our Planning and Production software. In case you, or someone of the building yard warehouse team, finds an inconsistency, you will be the one resolving this issue in close collaboration with Damen Naval headquarters and the suppliers. You ensure all materials and components are correctly labelled to safeguard the logistics project planning is in control. Thanks to you, the building yard team is provided with the right building components at the exact right time.
