Allyn International is in search of a Logistics Team Manager. Allyn is a privately held professional services firm established in 1992. What does a Logistics Team Manager do?
The Logistics Team Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the execution of logistics operations on a global scale. This role focuses on managing the team’s profit and loss, client relations, and the achievement of long-term departmental goals and objectives. The Logistics Team Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage key performance indicators (KPIs), and implement process improvements to enhance the overall logistics operation.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

  1. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in business, supply chain, economics, management information systems, computer information systems, or similar discipline
  2. Experience indirectly or directly managing large teams (over 30 employees).
  3. 2+ years of experience in supply chain management, logistics, or transportation
  4. Experience creating and delivering compelling presentations to executive stakeholders
  5. Experience or familiarly with supply chain systems and applications (ERP TMS, and WMS)
  6. Advanced or expert proficiency in the Microsoft Suite, specifically Excel, PowerPoint and Visio
  7. Preferred Qualifications

IDEAL CANDIDATE SKILLS:

  • 3-5 years of experience with a focus on process improvement and data analysis
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to work independent and as apart of a team
  • Ability to work effectively in a global, cross-functional environment

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and analyze logistics performance metrics like Overall execution, data integrity, adherence to compliance standards etc. Identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to enhance performance
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and implement improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of logistics operations.
  • Act as a SME and provide guidance, mentorship, and training to ensure the team’s success.
  • Ensure that all logistics activities comply with defined company and trade compliance regulations, and industry standards. Monitor and proactively address compliance issues
  • Manage escalations. Facilitate prompt issue resolution and oversee issue resolution within department
  • Generate regular reports and presentations to communicate logistics performance, key findings, and improvement initiatives to senior management.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging trends in logistics and supply chain management. Implement innovative solutions to enhance logistics operations and audit the KPIs of all global control towers.
  • Oversee team leaders and day to day operations of applicable clients. Assist with coaching, employee growth, timesheets, disciplinary actions
  • Travel to client locations as needed. Attend sales trips
  • Responsibility for billing, Profit & Loss, and financials for applicable clients
  • Publications and articles as well as participate in marketing campaigns
  • Act as back up to the next in command as requested
  • Participate in sales, marketing, and business development. Manage IT projects and other special projects
