Job purpose:

EXPERIENCE, PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience in a logistics environment or equivalent
• Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, Outlook, MS Teams, PowerPoint
• Company Systems: ERP system, Document Control System, Quality system
• Counterbalance FLT license preferable
• Full UK driving license

JOB PURPOSE:

The Logistics Technician will be responsible for the coordination and preparation of products, along with facilitating the packing, transportation and storage of materials, goods, and products. They will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and timely delivery of goods and services to sub-contractors and customers. This role will be required to maintain efficient communication with internal departments to ensure safe, efficient logistics and packing processes are developed and adhered to.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Efficient kitting and preparation of products prior to subcontract processing.
• Cost effective, safe distribution of products to and from subcontract processing.
• Recovery of direct hours in packaging, preparation, inspection and assembly.
• Responsible for the complete packing process of finished goods in advance of despatch to customers in line with defined requirements.
• Pre-assembly of products prior to in-house FAT testing.
• Maintaining high levels of housekeeping, ensuring HSE standards and procedures are adhered to.
• Preparation of products and supplementary equipment for external sub-contract processes.
• Responsible for the masking and packing of products in suitable packaging and removal of temporary packaging.
• Direct PMI, NDT, incoming inspection.
• Supporting with assembly prior to the next stage of the manufacturing process.
• Driving to and from external sub-contract processes when required, and ensuring efficient transport of product between subcontract facilities.
• Effective liaison with Engineering to make sure ancillary equipment required for subcontract activity is clearly identified and made ready for despatch with goods.
• Communicate with Planning and Engineering to ensure that the packing method for each project is understood in advance and that suitable training and provisions are in place.
• Work with the Purchasing team to ensure all necessary packaging is procured on time in full.
• Development and continual update of a standard operating procedures log for packing.
• Ensuring target recovered hours are achieved.
• Ensuring safe, efficient logistics and packing processes are developed and adhered to.
