JOB SUMMARY

Responsible to provide support service to the eight (8) Long Term Care (LTC) Homes by ensuring the homes master schedules are created and maintained and up to date through organizing, coordinating and maintenance by working within operational requirements and the collective agreement. Responsible to ensure time and attendance reporting is complete and accurate for LTC staff and submitted to Payroll for processing. The Long Term Care Scheduling Clerk must ensure operational needs are met according to established guidelines within the scheduling process and is accountable for resolving scheduling issues in a proactive and professional manner.

EDUCATION

  • Completion of Grade 12
  • Completion of one year of post-secondary education in a business or office administration program or equivalent
  • Additional training in software courses including databases, spreadsheets, word processing

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 1 year related experience in an operations scheduling environment where time and attendance encoding was also a principle function
  • Training in scheduling and time & attendance software (KRONOS preferred)
  • Excellent computer skills

SKILLS

  • Must possess excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Must possess excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Must possess knowledge of the business rules governing allocation of scheduled shifts
  • Must be motivated to learn
  • Must be able to work under pressure with multiple deadlines and frequent interruptions
  • Must be receptive and open to change
  • Must recognize and adapt to individual differences and team dynamics to produce effective working relationships
