LOOKER DATA ENGINEER

Capgemini Portugal is currently looking for a Looker Data Engineer to join one of the world’s most prestigious and innovative companies in the luxury industry.
Our Client is the owner of prestigious Maisons distinguished by their craftsmanship, creativity, and technological innovation. To leverage Lisbon’s tech spirit and infuse it into its brand-new Tech Competence Centre, our Client is looking to reinforce its technical capabilities on state-of-the-art technology and respond to the growth of their business. Their Lisbon teams will be an extension of its central Group Platforms teams and will be fully integrated in the core technology workforce. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Translate the business requirements into technical specifications, in cooperation with Group Data Office.
At least four years working in comparable engineering roles.
Strong knowledge of Looker (including LookML).
Experience with cloud data warehouses, preferable with GCP – BigQuery.
Knowledge of dbt and version management tools (e.g. GIT).
Strong programing skills in SQL, and Python.
Scrum methodology knowledge.
Fluent English required

Responsibilities:

Estimate, plan, manage, and lead the assigned data integration projects/tasks within the Data Warehouse team. Coordinate the related tasks and workload with the rest of the Data Warehouse engineers.
Build corresponding ETL/ELT processes and data flows to provide data outputs for analytics and data science.
Create consumable data models and visualizations.
Cooperate with the support teams to ensure data consistency, data accuracy, and performance of the delivered flows. Provide L3 support when required.
Coordinate the system upgrades together with other platform teams, including the planning and execution of non-regression tests.
Define and promote best practices and design principles for Data Warehouse architecture in cooperation with the Data Warehouse architect.
