Job Summary: The weighbridge operator is responsible for accurately weighing vehicles and their loads using a weighbridge or weighing scales. They ensure compliance with weight regulations, record and report data, and facilitate the smooth flow of goods in and out of the facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Weighing Vehicles: Operate the weighbridge equipment to accurately measure the weight of vehicles, including trucks, trailers, and other transport vehicles, before and after loading or unloading.
  • Compliance: Ensure that all vehicles comply with legal weight regulations and company policies. Flag any vehicles that exceed weight limits and take appropriate action, such as advising drivers to redistribute loads or reporting violations to relevant authorities.
  • Data Recording: Record and maintain accurate records of vehicle weights, cargo details, driver information, and other relevant data in electronic or paper-based systems.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with drivers, logistics personnel, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and compliance with weight regulations. Provide guidance on weight limits and loading procedures as needed.
  • Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance checks on the weighbridge equipment to ensure proper functioning. Report any issues or malfunctions to maintenance staff for timely repairs.
  • Safety: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while operating the weighbridge equipment and interacting with vehicles and drivers. Ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others at all times.
  • Documentation: Prepare and distribute weighbridge tickets, receipts, and other documentation as required. Verify the accuracy of documents and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
  • Customer Service: Provide courteous and professional assistance to drivers and other visitors using the weighbridge facility. Address inquiries, provide information, and assist with any issues or concerns that arise
