Job Description:
Torch Technologies is seeking an electrical engineer with an emphasis in circuit design and analysis to provide advisory and assistance services to the LRSO program office at Eglin AFB, FL. The selected candidate will support the Avionics team in ensuring successful qualification of several line replaceable units and flight sensor assemblies. The selected candidate will review contractor designs, perform independent analysis, and provide recommendations to the government concerning the designs. The team is responsible for reviewing contractor proposed test plans and ensuring they are adequately specific to test all the relevant requirements. If you’ve got 10 years of electrical engineering experience and spent much of that time working with circuit design, then this is the job for you.
The U.S. Air Force is developing a new LRSO nuclear missile. The service plans to field the LRSO by 2030 to replace the current, General Dynamics (now Raytheon) AGM-129A Advanced Cruise Missile (ACM) that originally entered service in 1991. In May 2021, the Air Force awarded an Engineering and Manufacturing Design (EMD) contract to Raytheon Missiles and Defense, Tucson, Arizona. The Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) Nuclear Weapons Acquisition Division (AFNWC/NDB), which is resident at Eglin AFB, Florida, is the System Program Office (SPO) responsible for the acquisition.
This position requires a highly motivated individual with experience in Electrical Engineering to include the below essential duties:
- Review designs of circuits and drawings of electronic assemblies
- Support failure analysis and troubleshooting
- Review test plans to verify that all requirements will be met by the methodologies used.
- Review test reports to ensure results vs plans are clearly documented
Job Requirements:
Desired Experience/Qualification
- Must have a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
- Must have at least 10 years of electrical engineering
· Must be a U.S. Citizen · Must have an active SECRET DoD security clearance. Must maintain clearance at required level.
- Must be eligible for a Top-Secret clearance.
- Must have experience with microelectronics components, circuit card/electronic assembly design, test, and qualification processes.
- Desired to have familiarity with DOD standards. IPC standards knowledge required.
- Desired to have familiarity with DoD Acquisition processes, but not required.
