About this role
Alphagen Technology AI solutions partners with PMG to explore new frontiers of alpha and provide scalable technology solutions to internal and external users. Cloud-based Aladdin Alpha is the next generation Research Platform that enables all investors, fundamental and systematic, to make better data driven investment decisions at scale across all asset classes. It is the market’s first Whole Research Solution that encapsulates fundamental research to measure traditional financial factors and artificial intelligence capabilities to measure non-financial factors, natively integrated alongside the client’s Whole Portfolio. We are responsible for building the AI capabilities in Aladdin Alpha, which will reinforce investment processes with machine learning, cutting-edge analytics and collective intelligence from BLK investment community.
Responsibilities:

Build scalable ML solutions to cater for growth in BLK active investment business

• Collaborate with all partners in the strategic design process and translates business needs into AI solution architecture design working closely with architecture, platform engineering teams.
• Contribute to ML research/PoC working closely with data scientists.
• Build Trusted Advisor relationships with internal stakeholders

Build Aladdin Alpha AI capabilities:

• Evaluate and participate in key build or buy decisions for the Aladdin alpha AI platform
• Drive thought leadership, identify industry and technical adoption patterns, define resolution, and determine how to scale, focusing primarily on reusability, modularity

Explore and bring state of the art ML algorithm:

• Keep abreast of recent ML developments in academia and act as an advocate to help drive adoption of new ML algo
• Help build partnership with universities by working on self-contained research projects with university students / professors

What we are looking for

• An advanced degree in a Data Science or Quantitative Field: PhD ideally, with at least two years of experience.
• Experience in Machine Learning Engineering
• Experience in Python programming
• A Passion for Programming: Programming is at the heart of everything we do. You must enjoy it to succeed on this team.

For New York City and California only the salary range for this position is $132,500 – $157,500. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
