ABOUT YOU - COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

  • Be able to communicate well with management and staff in a team environment.
  • Be able to safely operate machines, including troubleshooting.
  • Be able to operate a hand drill, rivet gun, or other equipment.
  • Be able to read operating procedures, order sheets and labels.
  • Be able to perform 5S duties of cleaning, sorting, setting in order, standardizing, and sustaining.
  • Be able to lift 30kg.
  • Be able to use equipment safely including pallet jack, sit down counter balance, swing reach, stand up forklifts (inhouse training provided)
  • Be able to calculate basic math equations
  • Be able to perform other assignments as required to fulfill the daily work.
  • Knowledge about automated robotic power coating line is an asset
  • Knowledge about injection molding is an asset
  • Pluming, moving machines, trouble shooting machines is an asset
  • Knowledge using a milling machine is an asset

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE - JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting directly to the Manufacturing and Plant Manager, the Machine Operator will be responsible for the accurate, safe and efficient operation of the profile wrapping and cutting machines. The primary objective is the maximize machine operating time while maintaining our quality standards. Attitude, dedication and the ability to learn are the most important qualities we are looking for. For the right candidate, we are willing to provide on-site training and in house certification.

DUTIES

  • Operating equipment safely and efficiently including;
  • Initiating action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformity while ensuring quality levels are maintained and continuously improved.
  • Performing a walk around to all machines
  • Ensuring all jobs are per control plans
  • Cutting material and running machines as per daily operations plan
  • Cleaning machines from top to bottom during each and every mold and/or material change
  • Always checking with the Manufacturing Manager if in doubt about material type, set up of the machines etc.
  • Cleaning up any material that may have spilled
  • Always properly checking material in and out of warehouse
  • Maintaining warehouse safety including
  • Moving all product safely and efficiently
  • Maintaining a clean, organized and safe work area
  • Maintaining warehouse order
  • Performing daily safety checklist
  • Assisting in cycle counting and periodic inventories
  • Updating manager and team lead on issues or concerns
  • Participating in process Improvement by communicating to manager and/or team lead
  • Assisting in the training of personnel as needed
  • Operating other equipment as required.
  • Mandatory overtime may be required based on workflow
  • Assisting team members in meeting and exceeding customer expectations
  • All other duties as assigned
