Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Cancer CNS with a passion for coaching, training, and developing Cancer CNSs to apply for the role of Macmillan Cancer CNS Development Lead (CDL). This exciting new role is part of a pan-London pilot project which is funded by Macmillan and NHS England (Workforce, Training and Education).
The focus of the pilot is on two key areas: attracting qualified nurses into Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) roles and accelerating the development of new CNSs.
The post holder will lead the local implementation of this high-profile pilot. They will be responsible for the delivery of the CNS Development Lead Pilot Project within the Integrated Care System (ICS) and contribute to the strategic management and development of the project. By working closely with Trust Lead Cancer Nurses and fellow Macmillan CDL colleagues across London, the post holder will inspire and improve the development of the next generation of Cancer CNS workforce across the Capital.
This is an autonomous senior role hosted by Homerton Healthcare providing system level planning, cross-organisational working and leadership for the local Cancer CNS workforce within North East London. The aim of the role is to act as an expert practitioner, resource and role model to support the delivery of high quality, safe and effective cancer nursing for people with cancer, their families and carers.
The post holder will be a change agent with a strong professional and clinical focus and will contribute to facilitating a conducive work environment. Thereby the Macmillan CDL will contribute improving cancer CNS retention and experience as well as staff development.
