Description:
You will work as part of the MR Physics team, within Radiology Physics, supporting the provision of high quality, efficient and effective MRI services within the Trust and externally. The Directorate of Medical Imaging and Medical Physics presently manage 7 scanners, while the team also supports upwards of 20 external scanners. The Directorate delivers all manner of standard and advanced MR imaging including neuro, cardiac, thoracic, vascular, orthopaedic, kidney, obstetric, whole body, quantitative imaging, functional imaging, radiotherapy planning and other services.
We are seeking a motivated, scientifically rigorous and patient-centred individual with experience of clinical MRI. You will be responsible for undertaking quality assurance across the range of routine and specialist examinations and will contribute to the safe scanning of complex medical implants.
You will play a key role in the development of MR services by supporting the introduction of novel techniques, in line with latest research, guidelines and the department’s clinical priorities. Importance is given to both the optimisation of service delivery and the ability to provide world-leading specialist imaging techniques.
Applications from candidates with less experience will be considered for appointment at a lower grade in the first instance and will be required to work towards achieving HCPC registration as a Clinical Scientist.
