We are looking for an experienced Mainframe Database Administrator to join the team!

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Proven experience as a Mainframe Db2 Infrastructure Database Administrator, with a minimum of 10 years in a senior role.
• Strong understanding of Mainframe Db2 database architecture and administration.
• Experience supporting government accounts, or other large mainframe environments, under stringent Service Levels.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

• In-depth knowledge of Db2 database management and optimization on Mainframe systems.
• High level of proficiency in database performance tuning and troubleshooting.
• Experience with database backup and recovery procedures, including Disaster Recovery.
• Knowledge of DB2 Third Party Products such as Broadcom Database Management Solution for DB2
• Familiarity with relevant tools and technologies in the Mainframe environment. Understanding or recent SYSPLEX experience an advantage.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Australian Citizen.

• Lead the design, implementation, upgrades, and maintenance of Mainframe Db2 database systems.
• Perform database optimizations, tuning, monitoring, and capacity planning to ensure optimal performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues.
• Ensure the security and integrity of the database systems through effective access controls and monitoring.
• Develop, Plan, and implement backup and recovery strategies for Mainframe Db2 databases.
• Provide technical expertise and mentoring as required.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure database systems meet business requirements.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies in mainframe systems and database administration.
• Participate in 24x7 Db2 database support roster.
