Overview:
We are the concentrate team in PepsiCo (PGCS) working across the Beverage, Nutrition and Snacks categories to deliver concentrate for many of PepsiCo’s mega brands including Gatorade, 7Up and Pepsi. The role manages improvement, corrective, preventive and predictive maintenance activities for production equipment, utilities and facilities. Site volume has grown by 65% since 2008 & supplies 85% of North America beverage concentrate volume.
This role is responsible for planning and scheduling all maintenance activities on site and will be a SAPPM administrator & super user.
Also responsible for all budgetary, people development and organizational objectives for Maintenance and Automation Engineering area by managing, leading, coaching and mentoring the team to ensure performance objectives are met, building positive employee relations and building leadership bench strength within the maintenance function.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for planning and scheduling all maintenance activities on site, liaising with Operations, Engineering, and Planning team to facilitate and maximise equipment availability.
  • Support Engineering team on capital project work where required.
  • Responsible for the scheduling of Preventative maintenance and statutory obligations under FDA & COMAH regulations
  • Liaising with site CMS system/administrator to ensure all contractors are pre-approved and compliant with all site documentation requirements.
  • Review and approval of Risk Assessment and Method Statements for contractor activities.
  • Issuance and filing of Permit(s) for all contractors performing maintenance works.
  • Generate and report on Monthly maintenance KPI’s from SAP PM data source.
  • Complete Technical review of planned Maintenance work orders prior to closure.
  • Participate in monthly review and analysis of SAP PM data with Maintenance supervisor/Reliability Engineer and develop MIAP’s where required. (Maintenance Improvement Action Plan)
  • Coordinate OEM maintenance visits and availability of parts to facilitate same.
  • Responsible for SAP PM administration, creation of new and updating of existing equipment records and associated maintenance and calibration plans.
  • Support internal and external Quality and HSA audits providing maintenance documentation from SAP PM CMMS.
  • Participate and support the continuous improvement and productivity program within the maintenance department.
  • Implement ideas to improve efficiency and effectiveness in both energy usage and of plant/production equipment performance, driving productivity.
  • Support PepsiCo Maintenance Methodology (PeMM) audit and follow up of associated actions at Carrigaline site.
  • Ensure site EHS obligations are met through preventative & reactive maintenance activities.
  • Ensuring contractor safety, through effective management of Lock-out, Tag Out (LOTO) activities
  • Generate and provide data for Root cause analysis investigations (RCA)
  • Ensure rigorous adherence to regulatory compliance including contractor management.
  • Participate in contractor performance reviews, and ensure they are compliant with EHS, Legal and cGMP requirements.
  • Support EHS action close outs and demonstrate a strong safety culture and support the site EHS goals.

Qualifications:

Essential Criteria i.e. qualifications and/or experience

  • Minimum of FETAC level 6 or equivalent in a Mechanical or Electrical discipline.
  • The role holder is expected to have at least 5 years manufacturing experience with proven initiative and a high degree of self-motivation.
  • Excellent PC and communication skills, both written and verbal would be an expectation of the role.
  • Experience in Computerised Maintenance Management Systems, (SAP PM desirable)
  • Background in supervisory/contractor management.
  • An understanding of Maintenance strategies, Predictive, Preventative and Reactive maintenance, and condition monitoring.
  • Ability to present information in a concise manner to management or auditing bodies.
  • A team player that can work with and motivate members of the team.

Additional Desired qualifications and/or experience

  • Electrical or Mechanical trade qualification or equivalent.
  • Background in supervisory/ contractor management.
  • Highly numerate, with analytical thinking, ability to support the Maintenance Team, Operations and others with decisions and judgements.
  • Ability to work in a changing environment generating ideas and solutions.
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritise workload.
  • Highly motivated and a strong team player with good people skills, having effective written and verbal communication skills across a range of contacts, both within the organisation and beyond.
