Description:

Geologics is seeking a talented Maintainability Engineer to work with one of our national aerospace and defense partners based in Minneapolis, MN. This is a 6-month contract assignment with the potential to extend.
This role involves executing engineering tasks with supervision, ensuring adherence to processes and standards, analyzing design concepts, collaborating within a design team to meet customer requirements, conducting maintainability analysis, participating in system lifecycle analysis, providing support during program and design reviews, and suggesting design alternatives to improve supportability.
Position: Maintainability Engineer
Type: W-2, Contract (6+ months)
Location: Onsite in Minneapolis, MN
Pay: $40.00 - $49.00 per hour

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the development of plans for managing Maintainability projects which define Maintainability engineering products and processes.
  • Provides cost, quality, schedule, and performance information to a more senior level Maintainability engineer to help ensure projects and tasks meet requirements.
  • Assists in identifying and defining Line Replaceable Units/Modules or Shop Replaceable Units for which analysis needs to be performed.
  • Assists in performing Level of Repair Analysis as required to determine the most cost effective alternative to perform maintenance tasks over the life of the end item of equipment
  • Applies a wide range of engineering design and/or analytical theory, principles, techniques, and practices to a complex portion of a technical project.
  • Reviews the design concept and preliminary design for impacts to supportability. Influences the design effort to ensure maintenance tasks can be accomplished effectively by the end user.
  • Reviews field support requirements and recommends tool and test equipment.
  • Recommends changes to designs based on the analysis performed where opportunities exist to improve the supportability and life cycle cost of the system.
  • Assists in the planning, execution, and the reporting on Maintainability Demonstrations to demonstrate and validate that a system under design will be supportable when fielded.
  • Applies broad knowledge of the design of organization’s products, technology, system interactions to solve complex engineering problems which have not been clearly defined.
  • Develops and writes technical documentation, makes revisions to existing documentation, and provides input to technical papers or presentations. Delivers technical presentations.
  • Performs technical analysis, testing, calculations, and evaluation of results to solve complex engineering problems, using specialized equipment, and/or by creating or using computer programs, models, or simulations.
  • Prepares and presents project technical results, recommendations, and solutions to internal customers. May prepare and present project technical results, recommendations, and solution to external customers.
  • Develops and maintains effective relationships with internal customers to resolve complex technical problems and implement solutions.
  • Gains and maintains knowledge of relevant engineering discipline(s), industry practices, trends, and applications.
  • Maintains a safe work environment and ensures compliance with safety objectives, policies and rules.
  • Shares responsibility of self-development with immediate supervisor.

REQUIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience to include:
  • Ability to read and understand Engineering Drawings.
  • Familiarity with current computer applications and proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with other engineers and project leads to solve complex technical problems.
  • Must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance for this position.

WE WILL ALSO CONSIDER THOSE WITH THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering with little to no experience
  • Those with no degree but have relevant technical experience such as Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, combined with relevant Military experience.
