WHAT WE’RE SEEKING:

  • Requires valid Driver’s License, vehicle liability coverage and acceptable driving record.
  • Requires a current CPR/First Aid certification
  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Trade or vocational school training preferred. A minimum of one-year previous experience in groundskeeping within a residential setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages outside environment including mowing, plants, landscaping, building maintenance, and repair.
  • Communicates with appropriate staff if an area is out of use.
  • Performs repair of facility, vehicle, or grounds in a timely manner.
  • Manages the safety and risk reduction of facilities and vehicles through maintaining safety equipment, managing hazardous materials, maintaining, and inspecting fire safety equipment and utilities.
  • Performs repair and maintenance of buildings, including but not limited to; minor plumbing repairs, maintaining smoke detectors, air conditioning filters, caulking, tile repair, wall repair, touch up paint, and grout.
  • Performs maintenance of grounds keeping in a timely manner, including but not limited to: mowing, edging, trimming grass, hedges, trees, planting, bush hogging, watering, weeding, mulching flower beds and rock beds, maintaining ponds and fountains
  • Maintaining walkways, sprinklers, decks, gutters, patios, and exterior lighting
  • Performs and/or coordinates housekeeping.
  • Ensures safe disposal and storage of all materials in client areas to limit access to clients.
  • Wears personal protective equipment when using power tools, chemicals or as needed.
  • Assists clinical staff at stables as needed, with animal assisted therapy sessions, including grooming, family therapy, or extra sessions, with an emphasis on safety for clients and animals.
  • Ensures all utensils/tools/cleaning solutions/equipment are securely stored when not in use.
  • Participates in planning stable and farm improvements for animal safety or welfare, or program advancement.
  • Assists with ensuring adequate amounts of feed, hay, medications, supplements, and supplies are maintained.
  • Assists in socializing and handling of all animals.
  • Administers animal first aid and responds to animal emergencies, as necessary and assists with animal health maintenance.
  • Oversees farrier, veterinarian, and other professional service providers’ visits.
  • Maintains tools/equipment in good working order.
  • Assists with orientation of new employees.
  • Participates in the facilities on call schedule.
