SUMMARY:

As a Maintenance Clerk, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment within an organization. Your primary role will be to ensure that the necessary materials are available to support ongoing maintenance operations. You will work closely with maintenance technicians, supervisors, and vendors to track inventory levels, place orders, and ensure efficient flow of materials. Your attention to detail and organizational skills will be crucial in maintaining accurate inventory records and optimizing inventory control processes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification or training in inventory management is a plus.
  • Experience as an Inventory Control Clerk or a similar role, preferably in a maintenance or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory control principles and procedures.
  • Familiarity with maintenance supplies, equipment, and spare parts commonly used in the manufacturing industry.
  • Proficient in using maintenance management software or systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and track inventory levels of maintenance supplies, equipment, and spare parts.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, including item descriptions, quantities, and locations.
  • Coordinate with maintenance technicians to understand their needs and ensure sufficient stock availability.
  • Place orders for new supplies and equipment based on inventory levels and maintenance schedules.
  • Receive and inspect incoming shipments, verifying the accuracy of items and quantities.
  • Organize and store inventory in designated locations, ensuring proper labeling and organization.
  • Conduct regular audits to identify discrepancies, identify obsolete items, and ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Collaborate with vendors to negotiate pricing, track deliveries, and resolve any issues or discrepancies.
  • Work closely with maintenance supervisors to forecast inventory needs and plan for upcoming projects.
  • Develop and implement inventory control procedures to optimize efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Maintain a clean and organized inventory storage area.
  • Enter production work order transactions into a CMMS system.
  • Enter parts information into CMMS system identify the equipment, the part, part number, quantities, and physical location.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
