Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Core Systems Maintenance Superintendent, the Maintenance Coordinator is responsible to mobilize and manage various contractors on-site from a performance, budgeting, and safety point of view. This individual works with the other Maintenance Supervisors, Planners and contractors to plan, schedule and coordinate the daily work assignments according to the weekly maintenance schedule. This individual is the daily interface between KSPC and our maintenance contractor partners and is also accountable for annual budget forecasts and monthly budget reporting. The Maintenance Coordinator will also act as the contract owner for individual contracts at KSPC. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Oversee contractor work scopes, ensuring tasks beyond typical duties meet safety and operational protocols, and facilitating the issuance of Safe Work Permits to align with regulatory standards.
  • Perform detailed inspections of contractor work, utilizing advanced tools to ensure compliance with site standards, diagnose issues, and mitigate hazards, enhancing operational safety and reliability.
  • Collaborate closely with the Reliability Specialist and Plant Engineering teams to review, share feedback, and address recurring issues, focusing on the proactive improvement of safety measures and operational procedures.
  • Develop, refine, and manage weekly schedules and resource allocation in partnership with production coordinators, incorporating risk assessments and safety documentation to ensure strategic project execution.
  • Foster strong relationships with contractor leaders and teams, engaging in Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and safety meetings to promote a culture of safety awareness and adherence to best practices.
  • Support the commissioning and start-up processes by participating in safety incident investigations, conducting wrench time studies, and providing expert advice, thereby ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of maintenance operations.
  • Manage contractor project activities by coordinating work orders in SAP, assessing and optimizing resource allocation, and procuring necessary materials and spare parts to ensure operational efficiency and project readiness.
  • Enhance contractor performance through the development of specific work instructions and continuous improvement initiatives, aiming to improve work efficiency, procedural clarity, and achieve cost savings.
  • Manage the financial aspects of contractor portfolios, from developing annual budgets to conducting regular forecast updates and analyses, ensuring comprehensive oversight and strategic planning for financial efficiency across operations.
  • Lead Management of Change (MOC) initiatives within your area of responsibility, identifying improvement opportunities and overseeing the strategic implementation of changes with expert guidance to enhance system efficiency and safety.
  • Ensure operational safety and compliance through conducting Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and managing maintenance notifications for assets, facilitating prompt and reliable maintenance interventions.
