Description:

GFL Environmental Services is looking for an electrician for our Missisauga location. Must have 309A and valid G license.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND COMPETENCIES;

  • Must be a Certified Ontario Licensed Electrician 309A or 442
  • Completion of community college or equivalent specialized trade courses
  • Proven Supervisory experience preferred
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • Must be willing to work shifts, and be available for overtime & weekends as required

Responsibilities:

  • Receive instruction, plan and execute work task
  • Supervise and assign duties to staff
  • Maintain, test, troubleshoot, repair and install industrial electrical equipment
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, adjust and install industrial instrumentation equipment
  • Maintain, troubleshoot and install power distribution, ccts panel and transformer
  • Install cable tray, teck cables, EMT and rigid circuits
  • Read and interpret manufacturer’s manuals, circuit diagrams, blueprints, drawings, schematics and Canadian electrical code specifications
  • Respond to emergency equipment failures
  • Ensure all work complies with Safety Standards and all Applicable Codes
  • Develop and follow maintenance procedures for electrical equipment
  • Organize, coordinate and work with outside contractors and Inspectors
  • Maintain good working relationship with all co-workers, contractors and customers
  • Housekeeping; work in an outdoor environment
