Description:
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE OF THE MAINTENANCE ENGINEER:
- Experienced Marine Engineer
- Experience of marine propulsion and auxiliary systems
- A basic understanding of the role of a T23 Frigate
- Strong stakeholder management experience at all levels
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE MAINTENANCE ENGINEER:
- Minimum HND/HNC qualified in a relevant engineering discipline or have demonstrable experience in a relevant engineering field.

THE ROLE
As a Maintenance Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll play a pivotal role to ensure that the Royal Navy’s Type 23 (T23) Frigates are maintained to the highest standard and available 24/7 in the role of defending UK interests.
Day-to-day, you’ll provide technical contract management and overside of the service provider activities for ship maintenance periods.
- Act as the focal point for the allocated work package in the core contract between the service provider, ship staff and other MoD stakeholders.
- Evaluate and report progress with quality, configuration and engineering standards of the work carried out by the service provider.
- Assess and endorse the technical requirements associated with emergent and additional work and raise contract variation orders where required.
- Review and analyse data including defects, certification, tests and trials reports, logs and registers, maintenance audit reports, technical defect reports, configuration management and schedulable maintenance tasks.
- Manage the ordering and supply of materials to support the delivery of the core contract activities and emergent defects.
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.
