EXCELLENT OPPORTUNITY WITHIN A FAMILY-OWNED BUSINESS, FOR A MAINTENANCE ENGINEER/FABRICATOR WITH EARNINGS STARTING AT £30,000 PER ANNUM, DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE, BASED IN KIDDERMINSTER.

Quantum Mouldings Ltd is a key player in the supply of finished GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) parts, supplying many markets including automotive, industrial, leisure and advertising industries. Quantum is a family owned business which employs around 40 people on their Kidderminster site.

We are currently seeking a Maintenance Engineer / Fabricator at our Kidderminster site. The focus of this role is to maintain factory equipment to allow continuous operation of all GRP processes, including but not limited to:

  • resin injection machines,
  • resin and gel spray equipment,
  • compressors and
  • extraction systems.

Training will be given in processes and equipment specific to the GRP industry as necessary.
Working with the guidance of the Senior Engineering Manager, you will be expected to design and manufacture jigs and fixtures and assist project development. The role includes engineering responsibility for manufacturing to ensure equipment is safe and tooling is ready to support the Production Manager so that production continues efficiently, safely, and without downtime. You will also be responsible for PAT testing and maintenance checks throughout the factory and office. The company currently runs a single, daytime shift.
Experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally some kind of material moulding process, is a distinct advantage. Consideration will be given to engineers with transferable knowledge in maintaining production equipment and process engineering. Successful candidates will likely have some engineering and/or production qualification (City & Guilds /HNC or above), and capability, aptitude and attitude are key to the role.

HOURS OF WORK

This is a full time role - 40 hours/week. Applicants will also be considered seeking shorter working hours (minimum 28 hours/week)
