Description:

We are currently looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer – Dayshift to join our Engineering Team. Reporting directly to the Engineering and Maintenance Manager, you would be part of a team of specialised individuals, responsible for the maintenance, service, repair and performance improvement of the plants manufacturing equipment, ensuring the highest standard of operational performance is achieved, to meet our production targets, and exceed our customer’s expectations.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • a Trade certificate or bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • 5 + years proven experience in production/industrial engineering.
  • Highly competent and possess a wide breath of knowledge in food manufacturing process, machinery and environment
  • An understanding and/or experience in offset printing, or metal decorating machines.
  • Currently registered New Zealand qualified Electrician, or ability to become a registered New Zealand Electrician (would be an advantage)
  • Fabrication and Toolmaking would be an advantage.
  • Detail-oriented and extremely efficient.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Commitment to operational and customer service excellence.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills with the ability to think outside the box.
  • Ability to identify alternative approaches, and initiate and lead improvements
  • Time management skills with the ability to priorities between short term operational needs and longer-term requirements.
    The successful candidate must be an effective communicator with the ability to develop effective working relationships. You must be prepared to take on extra duties and work flexible hours when required. You must have the ability to work on a rotating shift pattern. Responsibilities:

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL ALSO INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Working on fast moving assembly lines for the food industry, including installation, repairing, and modifying automated assembly lines and programming fault finding on automated robotic palletizing and wrapper systems.
  • Ensure equipment is available and reliable so as to maximise production utilisation and throughput.
  • Initiate improvements in Maintenance Practices, Systems, and Procedures, leading to Continuous Improvements in Reliability, Cost, Quality and Customer Service.
  • Implementing best practice and world class maintenance manufacturing standards across a wide range of equipment and services. Such work shall include fitting, welding, engineering projects, sheet metal working, first class machining and training of trainees.
  • Ensuring all preventative maintenance is completed in line with the schedule.
  • Working alongside contractors to improve line balance ensuring all steps of production run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Provide effective training to employees on proper methods in which to operate machinery.
  • Diagnose origin of breakdowns and troubleshoot problems.
