The Maintenance Engineer role would benefit someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment and has a focus on timely, correct results. This role requires the need to weigh all decisions carefully and thoroughly, based on engineering expertise in order to avoid unpredictable risk. The role also requires the need of serious consideration given to all possibly related facts and potential problems.

Working 39 hours consisting of;
Monday: 05:00 - 13:30
Tuesday-Thursday: 07:00 - 15:30
Friday: 06:00 - 13:30

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Completed a recognized apprenticeship in Mechanical or Electrical field
  • Level 3 engineering qualification
  • Multi-skilled Engineer
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar environment
  • Experience of working in a 24 hour manufacturing company
  • ATEX/COMPEX environment knowledge (Desirable)

GEOGRAPHY AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Based on site at Long Eaton
  • Potential to visit Supplier, Customer or other

Responsibilities:

SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

The Maintenance Engineer plays a vital role in ensuring the ongoing functionality and reliability of machinery, equipment, and facilities within the organisation. This position involves conducting routine maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and implementing improvements to enhance overall operational efficiency. The Maintenance Engineer also collaborates with various departments to schedule maintenance activities and minimize operational disruptions. Additionally, this role involves supporting the operation with factory shutdowns and schedules, documenting maintenance activities, and identifying opportunities for process and equipment improvements while adhering to safety and regulatory standards.

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintaining factory efficiency and reliability
  • Carry out routine maintenance tasks
  • Reactive maintenance, fault finding and repair. (electrical and mechanical)
  • Problem analysis
  • Continuous improvement initiatives
  • Facility Maintenance
  • Support Contractors
  • Dealing with suppliers and support when required
  • Schedule and organise tasks.
  • Respond to emergency breakdown call outs as required
  • Factory start up
