Description:

Outback Steakhouse is currently looking for a friendly and professional Maintenance/Handyperson to join our team.
Our portfolio includes 12 restaurants and as our Maintenance/Handyperson you’ll keep everything looking sharp and running smoothly, undertake upkeep and repair tasks of the interior and exterior. From simple repairs to forward-thinking for the next day. With naturally high standards to support your own, you’ll approach every task with dedication and pride.
You’ll be required to perform routine and preventative maintenance and cleaning for the restaurants equipment and facilities to ensure they operate efficiently, which will include minor repairs, maintenance, public areas and lighting.
Own transport and tools
Own transport and tools, a can do attitude and technical knowledge along with being well-organised with strong general repair skills will be highly regarded.

Reporting to the Managing Director and Operations Manager this role is responsible for repairs and maintenance of all aspects of the group which includes:

  • General repairs and maintenance throughout a broad range of areas within the group
  • Perform & Overseeing all plant, equipment maintenance and repairs
  • Get quotes, schedule and assist tradespeople with required jobs
  • Undertake duties as assigned or emergency tasks
  • Identify and report the need for major repairs
  • Ensuring safety compliance
  • Minor carpentry building works and furniture repairs

The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role and

  • Proven previous experience as a handyman/maintenance person
  • Have a good understanding of building maintenance
  • Good analytical problem solving and on the spot initiative
  • Experience in all or some of the following: Air conditioning, door lock systems, painting, tiling, plumbing, HVAC systems and general furniture repairs. In particular, plumbing and refrigeration/AC, electrical experience will be highly regarded
  • Experience with hardware tools and electrical equipment
  • Excellent organization, communication, time management and customer service skills
  • Well organized and apt in problem solving
  • Attention to detail
  • Valid Driver’s license
  • Must have basic computer skills and a smart phone
  • Good level of physical fitness
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends if required(not often)
