Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Under general direction, performs industrial cleaning, landscaping, snow removal and support general maintenance of a large active industrial building. Support Senior Building Operators in day-to-day activities and preventive maintenance programs.

HOW YOU WILL DO IT:

  • Use of industrial floor scrubber cleaning of industrial areas.
  • Operation of Skid Steer to move material as required. Emptying of waste bins.
  • Snow removal by the use of the Skid Steer, snow removal equipment and manually.
  • Upkeep by cleaning and inspections of industrial equipment to ensure they are running smoothly and reliable.
  • General facility maintenance and upkeep activities at the direction of the senior operators and Customer Business Manager.
  • Respond to service events as per site SOP’s.
  • Complete work orders and reporting documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Respond to all relevant Emergencies and participate in all urgent rectification events.
  • Support HVAC equipment maintenance including filter changing, cleaning, monitoring and perform minor repairs.
  • All mechanical maintenance duties with equipment used for tasks.
  • Provide general handyman services throughout the facility as required.
  • Perform routine checks of buildings and grounds.
  • Housekeeping and general upkeep.
  • Ensure work is completed safely and proper Policy / Procedures are followed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What we look for :

  • High school diploma or equivalent, experience in landscaping, facility maintenance or construction preferred.
  • Training will be provided for the Scrubber and Skid Steer, but prior experience is an asset.
  • General mechanical knowledge is an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills required in English
  • Capable of independently following instructions both written and verbal.
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor at all times with fellow employees and customer.
  • Able to accomplish all duties and tasks as assigned.
  • Working and operation knowledge of computers.
  • May be required to use a variety of hand and power tools.
  • A team player, committed to working in a quality environment.
  • Compliance with all company policies and procedures and adherence to company health and safety standards.
  • Effective liaison with Contractors on site, or those required to be called-in, to return equipment to service and/or ensure an emergency repair.
  • Demonstrating innovation and self-motivation while being an effective team player.
