Aurelia Metals Limited (ASX: AMI) (‘Aurelia’) is an Australian mining and exploration company with a highly strategic landholding and two operating mines in New South Wales (NSW).
Our Peak Mine comprises several underground polymetallic (gold, lead, zinc, copper, and silver) and an 800 thousand tonnes per annum (ktpa) processing plant. The Mine is located in the northern Cobar Basin in western NSW, a short distance from the historical town of Cobar.
Federation is one of the highest-grade base metals development projects in Australia. The Federation deposit hosts high-grade zinc, lead, and gold mineralisation and is located in 15 kilometres south of the central-west township of Nymagee. – this is a new mine site opening not to be missed!

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

Reporting to the General Manager, Cobar Region, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-standard asset management for the site’s surface and underground fixed plant, as well as Aurelia’s mobile equipment fleet. Your leadership will drive improvements in equipment performance, availability, reliability, and cost efficiency. This will be achieved through your inspiring leadership, commitment to a strong safety ethos, continuous improvement, and the application of robust maintenance standards, systems, and practices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Team Leadership and Development: Develop and manage an effective maintenance team, instilling a culture of safety, teamwork, ownership, and accountability while mentoring and coaching for professional growth.
  • Proactive Maintenance and Asset Management: Foster a proactive maintenance mindset to minimise breakdowns and ensure long-term asset life through best practice maintenance activities.
  • Performance and Cost Management: Drive improvements in equipment performance, availability, reliability, and cost efficiency, ensuring maintenance costs are within budget.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with legislative and statutory requirements for all equipment on-site and manage risks related to fixed plant and mobile equipment.
  • Reliability Engineering: Establish a reliability engineering function to apply root cause analysis (RCA), reliability-centred maintenance (RCM), and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) techniques.
  • Continuous Improvement : Create and support a continuous improvement culture within the department, delivering sustained improvements in safety, production, availability, and reliability.
