Description:
INTRODUCTION:
Daydream Island Resort & Living Reef is located in the heart of Queensland’s Whitsunday Islands and the gateway to the World Heritage-listed Great Barrier Reef. With stunning views out to the impossibly blue waters of the Whitsundays, it is the perfect place to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the island.
The island is one of the closest Whitsunday islands to the mainland (Airlie Beach) with spectacular 30-minute ferry ride to work each day.
DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to mentor and lead our Maintenance team. You are to support and assist the Chief engineer in management of the maintenance functions of the resort, prioritising urgent maintenance jobs to ensure the resort and the guests are the priority.
About the role;
Plan, delegate and carry out preventative maintenance & tasks throughout the resort.
Coordinate maintenance workload daily with contractors and employees. Attend daily meeting to ensure all tasks are delegated and timelines are set and followed up.
Be available to carry out emergency maintenance work outside normal hours or as required.
Ensure all staff are competent and safe by following the WH&S processes in the daily tasks and training is completed when needed for new employees.
Dealing with performance management issues with the support of People & Culture and Chief Engineer.
Weekly meetings with Chief Engineer to discuss – work flow, urgent maintenance issues & projects that need to be completed with set timelines.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:
Knowledge of hospitality (hotels, resorts, restaurants) would be an advantage.
Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
Previous experience in a similar role in hotels / resort preferred but no essential.
Highly developed organizational and time-management skills and the ability to thrive under pressure.
Ability to work a flexible roster.
Trade qualification highly regarded.
Open manual drivers license
Electrical License preferred but not essential
White card
First aid / CPR certificate
Must be eligible to work in Australia.
