SUMMARY

Responsible for providing overall mechanical support to the production group in the areas of packaging as well as processing and facilities to ensure continuous operations.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Millwright License or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2 years mechanical experience in a high-speed packaging and/or manufacturing environment (food industry is highly preferred)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety and Lockout Procedures is an asset
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs is an asset
  • Mechanical training or experience is preferred
  • Committed to working towards a Mechanical Certification
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Passionate about mechanical repair

Responsibilities:

  • Modify, repair, install, maintain, improve, and troubleshoot various types of machinery, equipment and facilities in the processing & packaging departments
  • Diagnose mechanical problems, provide quick & innovative solutions for mechanical equipment breakdowns by applying proven skills in the principles of mechanics, fitting, plumbing, basic welding, metal fabrication, machining, troubleshooting, and analytical problem solving
  • Experience with drill press, grinder, saws, and all other machine shop tools
  • Setup, takedown, and relocation of Bakery and Packaging equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance, and safety inspections
  • Provide solution to routine or unique equipment problems
  • Promptly respond to equipment related issues with customer oriented manner
  • Equipment PM (Preventive Maintenance) – responsible for maintaining equipment in safe working condition, lubricating necessary parts, changing worn out or damaged parts
  • Equipment (Production) – helps production setup the equipment on the line and troubleshoot/repair equipment during shift.
  • Shop House Keeping - responsible for maintaining maintenance shop and tool box organized and clean
  • Filling Out Shift Report – responsible for filling out electronically the shift report in specific issue’s or tasks completed during shift.
  • Ordering Parts – responsible for ordering parts on QMS that get used and helping the coordinator maintain shop inventory
