JOB DESCRIPTION:

As a key member of the Maintenance department, the Maintenance Planner is to improve workforce productivity and work quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning and coordination of labour, parts and materials, and equipment access. This position blends the key elements of both a Maintenance Planner and scheduler into one hybrid role. Using the Computerized Maintenance Management System, the Maintenance Planner will effectively plan and schedule corrective, preventative and predictive maintenance activities for the maintenance team and generate monthly Key Performance Indicators. The Maintenance Planner will work closely with the Maintenance Supervisor to create, review and close all work orders within the CMMS System.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Maintenance Planner role or related experience
  • Highschool diploma or equivalent
  • Understanding and experience with IATF1649:2016 and ISO/TS16949 certification systems
  • Proficiency with CMMS Software
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Automotive industry experience considered an asset
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with a wide range of office/plant team members, management, senior executives, and external parties
  • Strong work ethic and sense of responsibility
  • Well-developed organization, time management, multi-tasking, and problem solving skills
  • Intuitive, able to anticipate needs and respond with a sense of urgency
  • Action-oriented, flexible, dedicated and committed
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan and schedule maintenance work to ensure that work is done efficiently with minimal impact to production
  • Create, review, and close all work orders in the CMMS system
  • Create bill of materials for all preventative maintenance
  • Enter data from completed breakdown, preventative, and predictive maintenance work orders to CMMS
  • Work with MRO coordinator to ensure all parts required for preventative, predictive, and project work are in stock before issuing a work order to the maintenance team as well as ensuring/auditing all critical spares
  • Manage onsite stores and ensure the availability of parts/materials to execute work, as well as establishing and maintaining proper spare parts/consumable inventory and generating RFPs for re-orders
  • Participate in weekly maintenance scheduling meetings
  • Coordinate work assignments and scheduling of maintenance technicians needed to successfully execute planned maintenance activities
  • Continually review and optimize the preventative and predictive maintenance activities
  • Participate in failure analysis and operational improvement activities
  • Maintain and ensure compliance with maintenance contracts
  • Participate in 5S and Continuous Improvement (Kaizen)
  • Other duties as required
