Description:
The Maintenance & Reliability Engineer is responsible for the development and execution of the reliability excellence program to ensure that the Melbourne site is maintained in accordance with good engineering practice, statutory requirements, and EHS and GMP standards.
Responsibilities:
The Maintenance & Reliability Engineer:
- Leads and is responsible for the execution of the site reliability excellence/maintenance program.
- Provides technical analysis and trouble shooting for all facility, process, utilities, electrical and automation system breakdows. Performs equipment failure investigations to ensure that the root causes have been identified, corrective actions identified and implemented, and follow-up monitoring to determine effectiveness.
- Ranks the criticality of assets at the Melbourne site, typically using Reliability Centered Maintenance approaches, and defines the proactive maintenance approaches that are most appropriate to the business.
- Conducts equipment evaluations to determine the optimum maintenance strategy with regards to corrective, preventive and predictive maintenance, overhaul/replacement and surveillance activities.
- Designs, implements and administers predictive maintenance programs, such as thermography, vibration analysis, lube oil monitoring, for the site. This includes vendor selection, program scoping/scheduling, analysis review, and corrective action follow-up.
- Works with a range of stakeholders to effectively plan and execute major facility and plant shutdowns.
- Conducts program and equipment audits on a periodic and as needed basis. Audits will generally be focused on safety, regulatory compliance, maintenance effectiveness, cost savings, and energy conservation.
- Supports capital projects with the implementation of maintenance programs for new capital equipment, including maintenance tasks, frequency and critical spare parts.
- Develops innovative solutions to reducing energy consumption of both production and utilities equipment.
- Prepares and updates engineering department SOPs and Forms in document management system.
- Assist in the updating and maintaining data in CMMS (SAP) related to equipment tag & BOM, spare parts, maintenance plans and others as a support member to the Maintenance Coordinator.
- Assists with staff training regarding correct execution of maintenance activities.
- Liase with external contractors as required.
- Work in accordance to SOPs, EH&S and GMP guidelines and regulations
- Promote safe work practices and issue Safe Work Permits.
