  • Tertiary Electrical Trade Certificate
  • Proven experience in the mining or heavy/processing plant industry
  • Understanding of life cycle costing and budget forecasting processes;
  • Strong knowledge of statutory laws and regulations governing maintenance at open cut coal mines.
  • Strong technical knowledge in the mechanical field
  • Strong communication and relationship skills;
  • Strong Leadership skills

Responsibilities:

We currently have a permanent opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Supervisor – Electrical . Reporting to the Field and Infrastructure Superintendent, your primary responsibility is to Supervise all maintenance activities ensuring all work is completed as scheduled to safety and quality standards. This entails ensuring all maintenance personnel are performing work within their competencies and authorisations, are complying with all aspects of the SHMS, standards and obligations, and Coal Mining Safety and Health Act and Regulations.
The Maintenance Supervisor – Electrical works closely with the broader team, playing a crucial role in maintaining equipment reliability and availability by ensuring that work is executed as planned and that emergent work is prioritised to maintain operational capabilities, in an efficient and effective manner.

Some of your duties may include:

  • Lead maintenance personnel in the delivery of key performance targets including safety, individual performance, production and cost management.
  • Maintain personnel competencies and authorisations in line with the Training Needs Analysis and contribute to the development of the training needs analysis.
  • Manage the distribution of skills within the crews to ensure effective and efficient outcomes.
  • Ensuring the reliability and availability of equipment through scheduled maintenance work
  • Understand budget constraints and use this to control costs and drive behaviours within your area of control.
  • Strive for continuous improvement & innovative thinking in work practices and foster a climate of positive change.
