Position Summary: The Maintenance Team Leader is responsible for overseeing a team of maintenance technicians and ensuring that the equipment and facilities of the organization are maintained as per OEM recommendations. The team leader will be responsible to both supervise and participate in the maintenance and repair of the processing and packaging equipment while ensuring that the maintenance team complies with all safety and food safety regulations. The team leader will be responsible for developing maintenance schedules, assigning tasks, and managing the inventory of spare parts and supplies. Moreover, the team leader will train new maintenance technicians and partner with supervisors/managers to conduct performance evaluations. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential for this role.
WAGE: $47.00 - $48.00 /Hour

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have an Industrial Electrician (442A) and/or an Industrial Mechanic Millwright (433A) license.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, co-workers, and Managers.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to lead, motivate, coach, mentor and resolve employee conflict.
  • Ability to accurately maintain detailed records.
  • Flexible & open to work all shifts, including weekend overtime, as required.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Intermediate Computer Skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Experience in meat processing is an asset.
  • Be success-driven and have a “can do” attitude.
  • High degree of flexibility and adaptability to take up additional duties and cross-train.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the maintenance team with repairs and preventative maintenance activities. This is a working team leader position.
  • Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) software.
  • Oversee the daily maintenance operations, providing support and expert opinion to subordinates and management as needed.
  • Responsible for completing documents and reports, including but not limited to corrective, breakdown, and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Develop and implement strategies for creating or improving maintenance processes and procedures.
  • Ensure the maintenance update and maintain maintenance information concerning warranties and work orders.
  • Ensure the team is setting the appropriate priorities for preventive maintenance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.
