WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Mechanical Engineering qualifications – required
  • Some electrical experience would be an advantage
  • Experience with MEX or other PMO systems and SAP - desirable
  • Working knowledge of managing workplace health & safety risks
  • Stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
  • Able to provide insight and quickly identify a way forward when presented with issues
  • Proven experience identifying and deploying process improvements
  • Demonstrated resilience and ability to quickly engage with change

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Maintenance and Reliability Supervisor, you will act as a hands-on team leader of our maintenance team, ensuring high quality maintenance services are provided in a timely, efficient, and cooperative manner. This role will ensure expenditure on maintenance services is managed effectively and is conducted in compliance with statutory requirements.
We are looking for a natural people leader who loves being hands-on with the tools as well as guide and mentor a team of 3 to 4 maintenance fitters. You will have excellent time management and prioritization skills, be well organized and safety conscious.

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Operations management – daily people and workflow management aligned with priorities and maintenance schedule.
  • Preventive maintenance – overall responsibility of the MEX PMO system, planning and executing preventive maintenance schedule.
  • Routine maintenance – assist in developing and implementing best practice maintenance management and operational systems.
  • Emergency repairs and maintenance – prioritise and carry out necessary repairs to ensure production work recommences quickly.
  • Machinery overhauls – plan for scheduled shutdown of equipment for modifications or overhauls whilst ensuring production targets stay on track.
  • Health and Safety – ensure that all works and equipment maintenance are carried out safely, compliantly and in line with GWF policies and procedures.
  • Reporting and administration – daily/weekly/monthly reporting and administration as required.
