Summary: Supports production staff by installing, maintaining and repairing machinery and equipment, physical structures, pipe and electrical systems in a commercial or industrial establishment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED (General Education Degree)
  • Three (3) to ten (10) years of experience and/or training
  • Electrical and welding experience a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment.
  • Troubleshoots machines or equipment to detect malfunctions and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machines.
  • Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
  • Performs preventative maintenance on shafts, bearings, gears, knife blades, and other parts of machinery.
  • Installs and repairs minor electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, electrical and electrical components of machinery and equipment.
  • Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs/replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators and related equipment.
  • Maintains physical structure of establishment through repair or coordination of repair through sub-contractors.
  • Supports operation of machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill and milling machine by repair of machine parts, jgs, fixtures and tools.
  • Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
  • Trouble shoot and complete repair of welders, hoists, and cranes while coordinating major repairs of equipment.
  • Willingness to cross train and assist where needed.
