YOUR FUTURE ROLE

We have an exciting opportunity available for two new Maintenance Technicians to join or growing Parts and Overhauls team. Working within this close-knit team, you will support the maintenance, repairs and overhauls of Train and Tram Fleets from across Australia. These are permanent roles, based in Ballarat and working a 36 hour work across 4 days (Tuesday to Friday ideally, but negotiable).

We’ll look to you for:

  • Installing and assembling railway vehicle components using standard work procedures, hand & power tools.
  • Performing basic testing and support troubleshooting and maintenance of mechanical systems and components installed in the railway car.
  • Using lifting and transporting devices such as overhead cranes to install, replace and align subassemblies and components.
  • Performing self-Inspection of railway car components in order to identify defects and ensure quality.
  • Removing and replacing defective parts and components.
  • Proficiently cross reference technical documents and highlight any discrepancies to the supervisor.
  • Working closely with support functions to identify and propose suggestions for continuous improvement.
  • Organising work instruction documents, tools and railway car parts daily.

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Be an agile and adaptable team player, who is reliable, committed and happy to help where required.
  • A demonstrated ability to interpret technical diagrams and drawings.
  • Experience in rail equipment/fleet maintenance will be highly regarded.
  • A Certificate III Engineering (Mechanical Trade) or equivalent
