POSITION SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for planned and unplanned upkeep of the building, machinery and equipment at Argon Industries. The Maintenance Technician will use their extensive knowledge in mechanical, hydraulics and electrical systems to safely, effectively and within budget repair, replace and maintain the assets required to run the business.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with fabrication equipment: Lasers, CNC Turrets, CNC Press Brakes, Robotic Welders, etc.
  • Electrical experience: single and three phase.
  • Experience with diagnostics, CNC controls, PLCs, Relay logic.
  • Building/Vehicles: HVAC, lighting, forklifts, box trucks.
  • Mechanical, Hydraulics.
  • Must have working tool set.
  • Must be organized, detail oriented and dependable.
  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to read complex blueprints.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis
  • Must complete a 90-day probationary period.
  • Must have safety shoes.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance will work with each department to incorporate efficient methods and programs to improve the useful life and uptime of all of Argon’s systems. Maintenance will work with production to improve production facilities, reduce the incidence of costly breakdowns, and develop strategies to improve overall reliability and safety of plant, personnel and production processes.
  • Maintenance will address and take the lead on all breakdowns for all shift operations. They will diagnose faults and oversee/complete time-critical repairs, utilizing and coordinating with OEM maintenance personnel and contractors as required ensuring all systems are operating in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Maintenance will implement and maintain systems (UniPoint) to schedule, track and record planned and unplanned work. This will also include the control of maintenance tools, supplies, manuals, schematics, equipment, etc.
  • Maintenance will work closely with suppliers, arranging procurement of required components or supplies including stock items and those required on an emergency basis.
  • Maintenance is responsible for monitoring and controlling maintenance costs.
  • Maintenance will be responsible for training company personnel in maintenance techniques and requirements for the system they operate, including periodic audits of their performance.
  • Responsible to revise and maintain updated Work Instructions relative to maintenance.
  • All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
