Responsibilities:
IN A NUTSHELL, YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
A small team of multi-skilled engineers, the maintenance technician is responsible for carrying out proactive and reactive mechanical work within a fast-moving manufacturing environment; one of which is fully automated, adhering to health, safety and environmental legislation at all times.
Responsible for both preventative and reactive maintenance intervention, the Maintenance Technician plays a key role in optimizing site performance through maximizing asset availability and reducing down-time.
FOR THIS ROLE WE WOULD NEED YOU TO DEMONSTRATE:
- A relevant qualification in an electrical or mechanical engineering subject (NVQ, HNC), or to have completed an apprenticeship within maintenance engineering.
- Electrical or Mechanical engineering experience (ideally multi-skilled), and preferably from within a kiln or furnace environment.
- Knowledge or experience of working with controls, analysing faults and troubleshooting solutions.
- Experience of both reactive and preventative maintenance.
- Good technical ability relating to automation hardware and software.
- A high standard of workmanship.
- Strong organisation and communication skills, and the ability to act decisively to solve engineering and operational problems.
- The ability to work within a multi-disciplined team of varying levels of technical experience.
- Level 3 Qualification in Inspection and Testing.
- Qualification in Portable Appliance Testing.
- Experience of working on electrical installations in an industrial setting.
- PLC experience is advantageous.
