SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Trade qualified in Fitting (Mechanical) and/or Electrician, Instrument Technician
  • Previous experience in a similar hands-on maintenance role.
  • Experience working in a chemical environment will be highly advantageous.
  • Prior experience in a heavy industry environment.
  • Computer literacy and an understanding of modern computerised maintenance systems.
  • Fault finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Enthusiasm, intelligence, dedication and an eye for detail.

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

We currently have an excellent opportunity for a Maintenance Technician to join our chemical manufacturing plant in Mt Maunganui. In this role, you will carry out maintenance for any plant breakdowns, contribute to weekly/monthly/shutdown maintenance plans, and monitor mechanical stock.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure that all work activities you undertake are conducted in compliance with SHEQ legislation and regulations.
  • Execute Planned Maintenance work orders and populate the Maintenance Management system with feedback and documentation.
  • Correct plant breakdowns in a timely and safe fashion.
  • Populate and maintain the asset management system for the site.
  • Contribute and assist with implementing robust and effective monthly, weekly and shut down plans that ensure planned maintenance is to schedule.
  • Contribute and implement small capital works project on the site.
  • Identify and contribute towards opportunities for reducing maintenance costs without negatively impacting site safety, environment compliance and/or levels of plant reliability.
  • Engage with site workers to build solid relationships to ensure high plant uptime.
